Educating Orphans
Educating Underprivileged Children
At the inception of Ggwangamujje NY/NJ association in 1994, thousands of people in Uganda were devastated by HIV/AIDS. Many died at the hands of the disease leaving lots of children orphaned and helpless.

Ggwangamujje NY/NJ got involved in raising money to help orphaned children go to school. Although Ggwangamujje NY/NJ members, their families and friends have raised funds, the scholarship fund has remained small.

Ggwangamujje NY/NJ has managed to educate few students from grade one through twelve. Most of the scholarship fund has gone to orphans who are in forms five and six. Some of the Ggwangamujje NY/NJ scholarship fund beneficiaries in forms five and six were able to win government scholarships to universities in Uganda. The following students have benefited from Ggwangamujje NY/NJ’s scholarship fund:
  • Aloysious Zziwa is the first college graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Makerere University.

  • Angela Namala, pursuing a medical degree at Mbarara University.

  • John Bwanika is a business student at Mbarara University.

  • Brian Kasule Kalule is at Kyambogo, Teachers Training College.

There are thousands of orphans who desperately need help. They are our future generation. One of the ways to reduce their suffering is to give them education. You can educate a child for less than $200.00 including room and board for each semester (term).

Please rescue these children by donating to the scholarship fund. No amount is too small for these children. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Ggwangamujje NY/NJ is a tax-exempt association under section 501 (c) (3).
